Mapping Rule
Mapping Rule allows user to get data of source issue fields and reflect on create/edit issue screens.
Mapping Rule allows user to map direct source fields to destination fields or single source fields to many destination fields.
Allows single source field to many destination fields.
Doesn’t allow the same field to map twice at the Destination Custom Field Level. Ex: Assignee to Assignee and again Applicant Email to Assignee as Assignee is already mapped and cannot be mapped with another value as it is a conflict.
Do’s & Don’ts: Mapping Mirror Rule
User can add Single source custom field to many destinations custom fields.
User has to check field types while Mapping, like Due date to summary for an instance can be converted to text but, a summary as a Text field type cannot be converted to Number type field, you can visit List of supported fields. to check supported field types for current version.
Defining Mapping Rule is purely user responsible.
