Getting Started with Field Extractor for Jira Cloud

 

Welcome to Field Extractor for Jira (FEJ) !!

 

The Field Extractor for Jira (FEJ) plugin is designed to parse user comments, Rich Text Custom fields, and/or system fields such as the Description and Environment field and then update Issues based on predefined rules.

Define your parsing rules in the Configuration Page based on Projects/ Issue types and Custom Fields. Create a new ticket or add new comments to the ticket and watch the Custom Fields getting auto-populated !!

 

How to Install the App

  1. Install the FEJ App from Atlassian Market Place into your Jira instance.

  3. Apply a paid or trial license.

  4. Head to 'Configure' button for the Field Extractor for Jira plugin in the 'Manage addons' page.

 

Granting necessary Permissions to the App

As an Admin the first you visit the Config page, you would be presented with an authorization prompt.

You might be required to grant the permission again, when there is a major version update of the App.

This is added as an additional layer of security in Cloud for all the Apps built using Atlassian Forge platform.

Kindly click ‘Allow access’, and you would be shown a detailed information about all the permissions required by the FEJ App.

Please click ‘Submit’ to grant the FEJ plugin necessary permissions.
