Getting Started with Asset QR Manager

Welcome to Asset QR Manager 🚀

Asset QR Manager is designed to simplify the way teams manage Jira Service Management Assets using QR codes.
It enables users to generate, print, and scan QR codes to instantly view asset details and automatically update asset metadata based on predefined configurations.

With Asset QR Manager, you can configure Modes to control which asset fields (Text / Date type) should be updated when a QR code is scanned.
Simply generate a QR code for an asset, attach it to the physical item, scan it, and watch the asset fields get updated automatically!

How to Install the App

1. Install Asset QR Manager from the Atlassian Marketplace into your Jira Cloud instance.

2. Apply a paid or trial license as required.

3. Once installed, access the app from:

   • Jira left sidebar → Apps → Asset QR Manager

Granting Necessary Permissions to the App

As a Jira Admin, the first time you access the Asset QR Manager app, you may be prompted to authorize permissions.

This authorization step is required to allow the app to:

• Access Jira Assets

• Generate and scan QR codes

• Update asset fields based on scan activity

You may be required to grant permissions again when there is a major version update of the app.

This is an additional security measure enforced by Atlassian for all apps built on the Atlassian Forge platform.

Please click “Allow access”, review the listed permissions, and then click “Accept” to grant the required access to Asset QR Manager.
